Toronto Jazz Festival Announces Kenny Garrett - Triple Bill Performance!

Jazz Festival Supersizes Closing Night with Addition of Kenny Garrett

The TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival will close out its 23rd edition this summer with supreme saxophonist Kenny Garrett in a special triple bill performance on Sunday, July 5 at Nathan Phillips Square. Garrett will join previously announced acts, Alain Caron Band and Sadao Watanabe.

A multiple Grammy nominee, Garrett is considered to be the most consistently scintillating and inspiring alto / saxophone force today. Having performed and recorded with Miles Davis, Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, Pharoah Sanders and the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Garrett returns to Toronto performing music from his latest release, Sketches of MD, a tribute to Miles Davis.

What better way to end the 2009 TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival than with a supersized concert featuring three performances for one great price. Tickets are still $35 and available at or 416.870.8000.

The sounds of jazz will have feet tappin' and fingers snappin' as the 23rd edition of the TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival swings its way into summer, running from June 26 – July 5, 2009. Be a part of the action as more than 1,500 musicians, performing in over 350 concerts, descend upon Toronto for the city's largest music festival. Get jazzed this summer!
