Amici, aware that Camille Saint-Saëns was not a huge fan of the style and novelties of Les Six, thought that it might be fun to reconcile them … post mortem! We are pleased to welcome co-conspirators: Yehonatan Berick, Jin-shan Dai and Eric Nowlin in this, our second concert of the season. The programme includes Saint- Saëns’ passionate Piano Quintet; Milhaud’s witty Ox on the roof, with its tango and samba rhythms; Poulenc’s brilliant Clarinet Sonata and Honegger’s Sonatine for violin and cello - Les Six at their bouncy best!
