Pianist Sa Chen Makes Toronto Debut

Award Winning Pianist Sa Chen Makes Her Toronto Debut

Sa Chen, the celebrated Chinese pianist and recipient of Poland’s prestigious Chopin Passport will be making her Toronto recital debut at the University of Toronto on March 27th. Ms. Chen will also be giving a masterclass on March 26th.

Ms. Chen is one of the finest young Chinese classical pianist in the world today. Like her colleagues Lang Lang, Yundi Li, and Yuja Wang, Sa Chen has performed in major concert venues including New York's Carnegie Hall, London's Wigmore Hall, Tokyo's Suntory Hall, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, and Vienna's Musikverein, to name a few. (Incidentally, both Yundi Li and Sa Chen studied with eminent pedagogues Profs. Arie Vardi and Dan Zhaoyi)

Canadians in Montréal recently witnessed and heard the magic of Sa Chen in a solo recital at the 2010 Lanaudière Festival. It is with great pleasure that the LiDelun Foundation is bringing Sa Chen to Toronto for her début, her only stop in Canada during a busy performing schedule.

As a recording artist, Ms. Sa Chen has recorded two albums with the PentaTone Label, both having received favorable reviews and critical acclaim from leading magazines the likes of Gramophone, International Piano, and BBC Music. She has also recorded for JVC (Japan) and Harmonia Mundi (USA), which documented her win at the 2005 Van Cliburn Competition.

A press conference will be held on March 19th, 11:30am at the Euromusic Center, 2651 John Street, Unit #8, Markham, Ontario, where Ms. Chen will meet with journalists. She is also scheduled for an on-air interview on Classical FM96.3 on March 24th.

Sa Chen in Toronto is sponsored by the Li Delun Music Foundation
