OTTAWA – June 24, 2011 – Olympus the musical draws fom the myths of Ancient Greece, combining and interweaving four famous tales. Persephone will fight to flee the Underworld, Icarus will fly too high, Heracles will seek redemption with his 12 Labours, Prometheus will suffer at the hands of Zeus... and that's only the beginning!

Olympus dares to play in the realm of the living as well as the land of the dead. It delves into the grief that can link people even when they are worlds apart and explores the true nature of immortality and asks: what does it take to be a hero?

Written by Ottawa local Jennifer Tarof (lyricist of the Radio Siren’s album Fearless and assistant lyricist to the orignal musical theater review Cupid 911), composed by Larry Tarof (accompanist for Jennifer Gould’s DVD for her Juno Award Winning Music Soup, accompanist for Mirvish Productions’ Mamma Mia casting call and featured on CJOH’s Regional Contact) and directed by Bronwyn Steinberg (director of Goya’s recent production of Homechild the musical), focus groups are comparing Olympus to such Broadway sensations as Wicked, RENT and Into the Woods. Olympus is a new and exciting work with original songs that will leave you wanting more.
