Toronto – A last minute addition to the 2011 TD Toronto Jazz Festival line-up has just been announced. Grammy award-winning, 13-piece Spanish Harlem Orchestra will be performing on Sunday, June 26, 8:30 p.m. at Metro Square. Tickets are on sale Wednesday, June 15 at Ticketmaster.

Youssou N’Dour, who was previously announced for this date, has been cancelled. Tickets for this concert will be honoured for the Spanish Harlem Orchestra. Refunds are also available at point of purchase.

One of the most formidable and authentic salsa / latin jazz combos out there today, The Orchestra derives its inspiration from Spanish Harlem. The musical contribution of this neighbourhood is the last great chapter in the history of 20thcentury music in America. A cultural vanguard that gave way to salsa, latin soul and boogaloo, this was the birthplace of Latin music. Playing under the banner of Spanish Harlem, this Orchestra is the real deal and has re-introduced the classic sounds of New York City salsa to music lovers worldwide.

The 2011 TD Toronto Jazz Festival is sure to be bigger and better this year with 350 concerts, 1,500 musicians, 40 locations and 500,000 people all jammed into 10 eventful days. Do not miss the chance to listen to local, national and international talent playing a diverse range of genres in the heart of the city, The Entertainment District. Celebrate this anniversary in style!
