The Cleveland Orchestra performs “Irving Berlin: From Rags to Ritzes” under the direction of Jack Everly at the Blossom Festival on August 14

Sunday, August 14, at 7 p.m.: Jack Everly (principal pops conductor of the orchestras of Baltimore, Indianapolis, and Naples [FL], and the newly named music director of A Capitol Fourth on PBS) returns to Blossom to lead The Cleveland Orchestra in a program that he created. “Irving Berlin: From Rags to Ritzes” celebrates one of America’s most creative songwriters. The program of Irving Berlin hits includes “White Christmas,” “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Blue Skies,” “Steppin’ Out with My Baby,” and “Puttin’ on the Ritz.” Broadway vocalists Ashley Brown (who originated the title role of Disney’s Mary Poppins on Broadway and also performed the role in the recently completed national tour of the musical), Ted Keegan, Tony DeSare (who starred in the Off-Broadway musical hit Our Sinatra), Virginia Woodruff, and James T. Lane will be featured. Each of the singers is making his or her Cleveland Orchestra debut at the concert.

Concert ticket prices range from $21 to $88.

Conductor Jack Everly returns to Blossom to lead an all-star cast in this concert celebrating one of America’s most creative songwriters, Irving Berlin. This program of hits includes “White Christmas,” “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Blue Skies,” “Steppin’ Out with My Baby,” and “Puttin’ on the Ritz.”

Pavilion Tickets: $32, $37, $48; Box Seats: $88.

Lawn Tickets: $21. Two young people under 18 will be admitted free to the Lawn with each adult ticket purchased; they must be accompanied by an adult. Lawn Passes for “Under 18s” are available online at clevelandorchestra.com, at the Severance Hall Ticket Office, or at the Blossom Box Office the day of the concert.

Blossom Music Center opened in 1968 as the summer home of The Cleveland Orchestra. It is located 25 miles south of Cleveland in Summit County, just north of Akron, Ohio.
