October 7, 2011 – Toronto ON - After many years of live performances on the concert stage and in classical music productions, Canadian tenor Michael Ciufo will launch his second album, Momento, on Tuesday October 18, 2011 through Acronym Records.

Produced by Canadian songwriter Chris Bilton, Momento openly straddles two worlds of singing for Ciufo: those of the classically trained opera singer and crossover vocalist. This album reveals his two true loves, and highlights his proficiency in both genres. Momento demonstrates Ciufo’s impressive technique in classical arias, songs, and musical gems, while it delivers the emotional impact required for the popular, newly composed songs on the album.

When the call went out to some of Toronto’s best musicians to become part of the recording, they entered the studio not knowing what they would encounter. Upon the album’s completion, they have now become Ciufo’s biggest fans. Momento features Glenn Morley (musical direction), Joe Macerollo (accordion), Rob Piltch (acoustic guitar), Hawksley Workman (electric guitar), Lenny Solomon (solo violin), Erica Goodman (harp), and Chris Bilton (piano and synthesizer).

Michael Ciufo loved the entire process of creating and singing on this album. “I especially enjoyed working with my producer, Chris Bilton,” he says. “Under his supervision, there was an amazing sense of collaboration, and Chris created an atmosphere that made working with such talented musicians of different genres very rewarding. I’m proud to call Chris my musical partner and good friend as a result of Momento.”

Michael Ciufo will launch Momento with a tour of Toronto and other Ontario cities. The CD tour begins on Tuesday October 18, 8:30 pm, at Hugh’s Room, 2261 Dundas Street W, Toronto, where he will be joined by Chris BIlton and other musical friends.
