TORONTO, ONTARIO – Robert Lowrey Piano Experts is thrilled to present Olga Kern in master class in his European Gallery on Wednesday, February 22 at 4:30 PM at the store location at 943 Eglinton Avenue East. Robert Lowrey Piano Experts is known as one of the country’s best in piano sales, restoration, and as a service facility; Rob himself is also a devoted supporter of the arts and he is regularly spotted at many concerts in and around Toronto.

This masterclass is a fantastic and rare opportunity to see one of the world’s great pianists at the peak of her powers, mentoring some of Toronto’s finest young talent. OlgaKern, described “an absolute whiz at the piano” by The New York Times, is one of the leading pianists of her generation. This season takes her throughout the United States in concerto appearances, as well as recital appearances including her Koerner Hall concert in Toronto with world-renowned violinist Vladimir Spivakov on Thursday, February 23, at 8 PM. This is her first dual recital tour with Mr. Spivakov outside of Europe. The piano featured in both the masterclass and Koerner Hall appearance is the rare andlegendary Bosendorfer Imperial grand piano.

Three gifted piano students have been chosen to perform for Ms. Kern. They were selected based on the opinions of teachers and adjudicators throughout Toronto.

Coco Ma, 11, has performed since age six. A regular local, national, and international competition winner, she made her Carnegie Hall debut at age nine. Last summer, she was the youngest performer at the Young Virtuosos Series at the Niagara International Music Festival. She studies at the Young Artist Performance Academy (YAPA) at the Royal Converstory of Music (RCM) under Arshalouise Nersessian. For Ms. Kern, Coco will perform Chopin’s Ballade No. 3 in A-flat major, Op. 47.

Amadeusz Kazubowski-Houston, 15, is a national scholarship and award-winning pianist. He has appeared in solo recital in Toronto, Waterloo, Peterborough, and Poland. He has performed in many events in the Toronto area, including Tom Allen’s Classical Goodtime Variety Show (CBC Radio/Peterborough Symphony Orchestra), Toronto Sinfonietta’s Concerto Competition Winners’ Gala, the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation “Young Stars of the Young Century” concert and many others. Amadeus studies on scholarhip at YAPA at the RCM under Li Wang and James Anagnoson. He will perform Chopin’s Fantaisie in F minor, Op. 49.

Ricker Choi, 35, has won grand prizes from the North York Music Festival and second prize at the Berlin International Amateur Piano Competition. He has performed live on Classical FM 96.3 in Toronto and has been featured in the Toronto Summer Music Academy and Festivals “Emerging Artists in Concert” at Walter Hall at the University of Toronto. He has also performed in the Off Centre Music Salon at Glenn Gould Studio. A full-time financial risk consultant, he also studies with Boris Zarankin. Ricker will perform Liszt’s Mephisto Waltz.
