TORONTO, ONTARIO – The Ontario Philharmonic, led by Marco Parisotto, returns to Toronto’s Koerner Hall for the second of its Great Soloists Series, this time featuring one of Canada’s favourite pianists, Anton Kuerti, in an all-Brahms concert.

Anton Kuerti is part of the Canadian musical landscape.  Described as “one of the truly great pianists of this century,” Anton Kuerti is one of today’s most recorded artists.  Born in Austria, Kuerti grew up in the United States and has made Canada his home for the past 35 years.  Kuerti has toured over 30 countries, and has played with every Canadian orchestra and most major North American orchestras.  His vast repertoire includes over 50 concertos.  Kuerti is an officer of the Order of Canada and has received honorary doctorates from several universities. In 2008, he was awarded the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement.   With the orchestra, his second collaboration since his OP debut in 2011, Anton will perform the Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat major, Op. 83.  The concert is rounded out with Brahms’ Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 93.  To see a brief film on Mr. Kuerti, please click here:

This concert (also to be performed Friday, November 30, 8 PM at Regent Theatre in Oshawa) is a joint presentation with Mooredale Concerts.
