Choeur des enfants de Montréal with the OSM in Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher
The Choeur des enfants de Montréal has been growing in leaps and bounds since its creation in 2001. Today CEM counts over 100 singers between the ages of 5 and 18, divided into 3 groups: Training, Junior and Senior Choirs. Every year, new choristers come to us, mainly from the NDG / Côte des Neiges / Westmount area. We already have a waiting list for September 2013!
Our artistic directors, Andrew Gray and Amy Henderson, have an infectious passion for choral music along with a “knack” with children. Thanks to them, our young singers receive a thorough choral & concert education “dans la joie et la bonne humeur”. Every year, our singers perform with stars of the music world, be it Kent Nagano (OSM) or Roger Waters (Pink Floyd)… and the list goes on.
Schools offer less and less music education to their pupils. This is where we pick up.We provide children with weekly rehearsals, music theory classes, music trips, outreach activities and of course concerts. The choice of repertoire in itself is educational and is chosen by our artistic director with great care.
Join us and be part of this unique and exciting choir! Rehearsals are at the NDG Community Centre (corner Décarie and Côte St-Antoine). There are now over 100 choristers in 3 choirs under the CEM umbrella: Training (5-7 years), Junior (8-10 years) and Senior (11-18 years).
