Beethoven en plein air with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Orchestre Métropolitain

Montréal, Monday, August, 2014 - The Orchestre Métropolitain and its artistic director and principal conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin will present a free outdoor concert at the Mount Royal Chalet overlooking the city on Thursday, August 7 at 7 p.m. This marks the first time the Orchestre Métropolitain performs at the Mount Royal Chalet. The program will feature the Egmont Overture andSymphony No. 8 by Beethoven, as well as the Siegfried Idyll and Tristan und Isolde(Prelude and Liebestod) by Wagner. The STM, a partner of the Orchestre Métropolitain, will step up services on the De la Montagne 11 bus line on the evening of the concert. In case of rain, the concert will take place inside the Chalet. This program will also be presented the following day, August 8, at West-Vancouver Park on Nun's Island, as part of the Orchestre Métropolitain's summer season.

A 34th season brimming with exciting discoveries
The Orchestre Métropolitain launches its 34th season at the Maison symphonique de Montréal in October, when it marks the start of principal conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin's 15th season at the helm of the Orchestre Métropolitain. This upcoming season of discoveries will feature a full slate of new faces and surprising songs, as the likes of Stéphane Tétreault, Layla Claire, John Relyea, Benoît McGinnis and even Rolando Villazón take the stage at the Maison symphonique de Montréal. To pave the way for this exciting program, classical music lovers can come and enjoy a charming summer season.
